Program areas at The Texas Golf Association

Tga counted more than 570 member clubs and 143,000 individual member golfers. Golfers become members by virtue of establishing a usga handicap at a tga member club. In order to fulfill The memberships of clubs, The tga provides ghin software and technology, tournament management software, educational seminars and publications. To service handicaps and memberships for golfers, The tga provides access to ghin golfer products, educational resources, and utilizes software and technology to manage member databases.
Tga provides management and support services to related entities as well as contractual management services for other recreational entities. The Association contracts with a third party staffing organization as an umbrella organization for its related entities.
Tga conducts organized Golf events for competitive and recreational golfers in every region of The state. These events include statewide and regional championships, qualifying rounds for tga and usga championships, managed events for colleges and The women's southern Golf Association, fun Golf play days and beginning Golf outings. In 2023, more than 10,000 applications were received for more than 100 events comprising more than 17,000 rounds of Golf played by almost 4,000 unique golfers. Tga staff were on site at host clubs for almost 350 days to conduct these events.
