Program areas at The Vineyard New Outreach Ministry
The Vineyard Food Pantry and Mobile Hunger Relief Outreach Program to help reduce hunger for individuals and families in impoverished rural counties. The program provides nutrition, health and wellness information to poor and low-income people in Washington, Bolivar and Sunflower counties who use our food pantry services. The program allows us to send food trucks into rural areas, which are steeped in poverty, for hunger relief. There currently is no hunger relief program operating in certain areas. Poor residents in rural southern areas must travel up to 45 minutes to city food pantries for food, including to Vineyard New Outreach Ministry's pantry, causing them added hardship. Many may not make the trip at all because it's too much of a hardship, meaning they may not get hunger relief.

U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. We have been able to learn many things from this organization.
