Program areas at The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars

Academic internship program and residential services - responsible for providing experiential education, guidance and supervision to learners of all ages. Participants are involved in Internships in The public, private and non-profit sectors. In addition to supervision and development in The internship site, participants receive education around professional development, leadership and civic engagement in small class settings and through exposure to prominent speakers and leaders. Housing is optional, but a full array of student services are provided and community managers are available 24/7. Most participants may earn full Academic credit from their home institutions or school of record.
Thematically based, short term (up to 8 days), high impact Seminars participants may earn Academic credit for The experience through their home institution. Structured around prominent guest speakers and related dc-based site visits. Topics include federal government policy, national and cyber security, and professional development.
