Support The mission of The va department of game and inland fisheries to further The parallel missions of outdoor recreation and Wildlife conservation through: joint land acquisition projects; co-management of agency-directed programs including The state Wildlife k9 team and The agency electronic store; national archery in The schools program; fishing education in The schools program; partnership on educational hunting, boating and conservation events; partnership on hunter retention and recruitment efforts, including wounded warriors outdoors programs; advocacy on behalf of The agency in regulatory and legislative matters; land acquisition project in accomackcounty.
Promote Wildlife conservation and enjoyment in The commonwealth of Virginia through sponsored hunting and recreational activities and public education. Items include: sponsored youth and wounded warrior hunts on multiple properties throughout The year; participation in The following recreational and public education events: sponsorship of The southeastern fish and Wildlife agencies' directors' meeting, sponsorship and paraticipation in The national land conservation rally in Utah; appointment to The executive board of Virginia forever.
Management of fulfillment farms, a 2,000 acre tract of land to conserve and enhance Wildlife habitat through robust timber management program aimed at providing small game habitat, including timber stand improvement cuts and Wildlife burns; pre-season quail release to support state-wide efforts to engage quail hunters and provide public quail hunting oppportunities. Management efforts are directed towards providing no-fee public access to The farm for The purposes of hunting, hiking, fishing, birding, and Wildlife watching, as well as providing handicapped accessible outdoor opportunities through The construction and maintenance of wheelchair accessible hunting blinds and open trails.
