Program areas at The Access Project / Trendyra

Continued Rising Scholars Program from 2022 serving justice-impacted and formerly incarcerated community college students from 42 community colleges around the state of California. Conducted know-your-rights meetings at 27 colleges. Conducted 12 volunteer training and post-conviction record analysis workshops with pro bono attorney volunteers at law firms and corporate legal departments. Matched 350 pro bono volunteers with students in drafting evidentiary declarations for court proceedings. Filed expungement and felony reduction petitions for over 1,500 convictions.
concluded work on partnership with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in which The Access Project provided clean slate services and project management services under contract with The Lawyers Committee a nonprofit organization
Continued developing volunteer engagement online platform RAP legal analysis tool and court petition automation tool for Rising Scholars use and in preparation for making the platform available statewide with a projected implementation date of 2025.
