Program areas at Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation
At the core of the Foundation's mission to explore Theodore Roosevelt's life, legacy, and enduring relevance sits the development of a physical Presidential Library + museum in medora, north dakota, and the creation of a programming platform that promotes leadership, citizenship, and conservation beyond the building in the badlands. In 2022, the Foundation exceeded our annual fundraising goal for the museum's completion and neared the final architectural design of the building, landscape design of the surrounding site, and interpretive design of the museum's exhibits. The land made available for purchase by the Theodore Roosevelt land conveyance act of 2020 was acquired from the u.s. forest service, and the first official acts on the land were a blessing by indigenous tribal partners and a native plant project and prairie restoration. The Foundation continued to develop programming, including a content studio which is near launch of its first two initiatives, a podcast and augmented reality game. Partnerships also continued to expand and deepen, including with federal, state, and tribal governments; universities; corporations and foundations; and other nonprofits, Presidential libraries, and cultural institutions.
