Program areas at There Is No Hero In Heroin Foundation
The alternative peer group apg Is located in new orleans square inside of the historic commercial center. It started as an after school program on the campus of mission high school. in july 2019, apg moved off site to its current location. This program offers unique after-school programming for youth ages 14-24 in recovery. Activities include peer recovery support, equine therapy, social circus, book clubs, yoga, freestyle poetry classes, and more. Additionally, apg offers tutoring to assist participants with schoolwork.
Black monday Is a public education and community outreach forum that includes several programming elements, making it tinhihs signature annual event. Since 2013, this event has been held in february, on a monday closest to valentines day, to remember loved ones who have passed away, celebrate those in whom have found a pathway to recovery, and support those still struggling with substance use disorder. Included in this event are a carnation flower memorial wall, resource fair with community providers, overdose prevention training, and much more. For the first 5 years, black monday was held at the salvation army chapel but quickly grew beyond the capacity of 450 guests.
Tinhih Is currently licensed to offer outpatient counseling services for adolescents and adults at a variety of intensity levels. Through the assistance of grant funding, several of these counseling tracks are at No cost to the participant. Programming Is individualized and based on need after assessment Is completed.
Tinhih has partnered with several community organizations to offer medication-assisted treatment and sober living scholarships. in combination with behavioral health therapy, medication-assisted treatment can be an effective tool for addressing opioid use disorder. Individuals are able to receive assistance through the tinhih scholarship program at the three center for behavioral health certified otp locations in the las vegas area. To date, tinhih has assisted over 150 individuals enter treatment with center for behavioral health. Additionally, tinhih provides one month sober living scholarships to individuals who have completed treatment and need additional support in their recovery. Since beginning this program, tinhih has contributed over $50,000 to the southern Nevada sober living community.
