Program areas at Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry
Outreach maintains a client choice food pantry to provide a weeks worth of groceries to qualified individuals one time per month. The food pantry also provides other products such as paper and hygiene products. The pantry is stocked with in-kind donations from manna food bank, dollar general, food lion, good360, groups and individuals as well as monetary donations. An average of 261 families were served monthly. Outreach is also involved in providing assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, home repair, rental housing, programs for children and senior citizens and a program called life works, designed to help adults reach self sustainability.
Backpack snacks program provides a bag of food for the weekend, throughout the school year for school children who qualify in polk county, nc. An average of 200 bags go out during the school year. During the summer months, bags are provided weekly and delivered to children's homes.
Other program services including veteran's assistance, school supplies, holiday programs, health assistance, special projects and general overhead and disaster relief and foster care needs.
