The Foundation is organized and operated principally to preserve, restore, reconstruct, or otherwise maintain historical structures, objects, works of art and expansive rural landscapes and to promote, encourage, and carry on historical, interpretive, research, and educational activities related thereto, all for the benefit of the public. The acquisition of historical buildings and land by the Foundation are core to the Foundation's tax-exempt purposes, as the stewardship of these assets directly furthers the multi-faceted mission of the Foundation of historical preservation, conservation and the advancement of education and scientific reserach to serve the public interest.
