Program areas at Timpanogos Legal Center

Document clinic cases: our staff and volunteer attorneys draft certain pleadings for parties who are representing themselves in their family law cases. We served 182 clients in 2023. We assisted with 589 documents. Weekly clinic: we host weekly Legal advice clinic both in person in provo and online via zoom. The in-person clinic is held in conjunction with the Utah county family justice Center, meaning that clients who come in person are able to sit down not only with staff and volunteer attorneys, but also with victim advocates, housing coordinators, immigration attorneys, and other local service providers. We pay about three staff attorneys and two support staff to run the clinics. We recruit six to eight volunteer attorneys and the same number of law students to help. In 2023 we held 2,378 consultations at weekly clinics.
State-wide regional Legal clinics: we set up Legal clinics across the state where clients can meet with local volunteer attorneys and tlc staff attorneys. While some of our clinics are held at domestic violence shelters and are restricted to those shelters' clients other clinics are open to the public so we can serve a greater portion of the people in the area. In 2023, we held 220 consultations through our regional clinics.
Hotline: clients have the ability to text and email our team to receive brief advice and referrals, as well as being able to call. We responded to 5,147 hotline calls, texts and emails in 2023.
Certified advocate partners program: our staff attorneys train and oversee victim advocates at community-based and government agencies throughout Utah, giving them the tools to provide Legal services to victims of abuse seeking civil protective orders and stalking injunctions. In 2023, 127 clients were served by 10 advocates. Volunteers & cle: in 2023, we had about 120 volunteers. They generously gave 2,142 hours of service to utahns, providing direction and hope to those who otherwise would be barred from accessing Legal services. In 2023, we offered 7 cles to 662 participants.
