Program areas at TIA
Tia offers a complete curriculum of training programs that include the step-by-step procedures for Tire service technicians in the automotive, commercial, earthmover, farm and industrial Tire markets. The automotive Tire service (ats) program covers the service and safety guidelines for passenger and light truck tires. The commercial Tire service (cts) program addresses the safety guidelines, procedures and osha regulations for servicing truck and bus tires. The earthmover Tire service (ets) program covers the service procedures and safety guidelines for tires in off-the-road construction and mining applications. Farm Tire service (fts) provides service procedures and safety guidelines for agricultural tires and wheels while the industrial Tire service (its) program does the same for forklifts and small material handling vehicles with pneumatic or solid rubber tires. The ats, cts, ets, fts and its programs are available via tia's online university and designed for new hires or experienced employees in need of documented training. Ats, cts and ets have more advanced certified versions that incorporate Industry recommended practices into the curriculum, require a higher level of skills demonstration and include a proctored final examination for members that want the highest level of training and recognition for their technicians. In 2023, tia released the certified cts program to include a new module on Tire and wheel inspection, new information on road service safety, and other updates to various modules within the program. Tia also completed production of the certified ats program and translated basic cts into spanish.
