Program areas at TLC Family Resource Center
See schedule ofamily support: home-based services provided to families with children ages 0-18 with a goal of strengthening parent-child relationships, linking families to community services, educating parents about child health and development, improving parenting skills and self-sufficiency, and preventing child abuse and neglect. In 2023 TLC provided direct support to 231 families. Our Family support services received 480 referrals and supported 272 families through Resource navigation. Family support has begun to expand programming to offer parent groups for mothers of new babies, toddlers, and preschool-age playgroups weekly. TLC is promoting parent leadership through parent-led workshops such as baby-wearing classes, homemade toy-making, and more. In 2022 TLC developed clinical support services offering child parent psychotherapy, play based therapy and cognitive behavorial therapy to families enrolled in Family support services with a child seven years old and younger. In 2023 TLC supported 43 families utilizing one of the three modalities.
See schedule orecovery programs: provide direct support and Resource navigation to those impacted by substance use. Including the following services: individual recovery planning, community engagement, Family support services and support groups. 379 individuals impacted by substance use received direct, evidence-based peer recovery support. These services included individual recovery support and planning, Resource navigation, and case management. The recovery program also hosted 13 recovery-based events and over 300 support groups. All service programs are designed to decrease substance misuse and strengthen and enhance recovery communities.
See schedule oyouth programs:we partner with youth serving agencies to provide health classes to people ages 14-19 or up to 21 years old if pregnant or parenting. We offer a free inclusive program that enables teens to access comprehensive sexuality education, learn about their bodies and how they work, know that they have the power to keep their bodies and other peoples bodies healthy, practice the skills they need to engage in healthy relationships throughout their lives, and access honest and medically accurate answers to their questions. In addition, youth programs have begun to offer community events monthly for at-risk youth to help promote pro-social activities. TLC has successfully provided monthly activities for over 57 youth between 2023 and 2024. TLC has partnered with the local teen shelter to provide workshops for anti-vaping curriculum, healthy boundary setting, and comprehensive sexuality education.
