Description
TN Voices guides mental health transformation as a collaborative leader. TN Voices, founded by Tipper Gore and run by a family for 30 years, has 150 positions that serve Tennesseans and partners across the country. Last year, TNV assisted nearly 40,000 clients. TNV provides community support services to parents and caregivers across the state through direct assistance, support, information, training, and family representation. In light of the pandemic in 2020, TNV found creative ways to reach struggling individuals who could no longer receive outreach in person.

Program areas at TN Voices

Community support services - these services provide valuable support, resources, and training to parents, educators, and caregivers across the state, while also providing direct assistance, support, information, training, and family representation to schools, mental health providers, and policy makers in Tennessee. Tnv's high quality in-home and community-based services directly seek to improve the health and well-being to individuals who are in need of mental health services and supports. Also provided are high fidelity wraparound services to Children, youth, young adults, and their families suffering from behavioral health needs.
Therapeutic services - this program provides an effort to direct families from further court and dcs involvement with partnership between tnv and juvenile justice courts in some counties through funding provided by tdmhsas. The program supports Children, youth and families involved in the juvenile justice system helping provide assistance in navigating the child-service systems, advocacy, support, and therapeutic skill-building to prevent placement outside the home to a higher level of care. Tnv's outpatient services provide therapy services with a master's level clinician to meet the needs of individuals and families. Tnv provides a strengths-based approach while using evidence-informed practices to provide quality trauma-informed care. Our therapists help Children, adolescents, and adults with mental and behavioral health concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adhd, grief/loss, parenting, trauma and more. In addition to outpatient, school-based and primary care integrated services are offered in certain counties.
Housing services - tnv provides intensive long-term, wraparound support services that are community based and long-term recovery oriented. On-site services include psychiatric, nursing, case management, and treatment services, as well as living skills development and community activity participation. It provides a supported living environment with services mentioned above designed to allow discharge of service recipients from middle Tennessee mental health institute.
