Program areas at Together We Can Do Great Things
Foster Parent Training and Foster Child Support. Together We Can organized and coordinated MAPP (Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting) training classes for potential foster families and prepared to provide Life Skills training to Foster Children in care, as well as, Foster Children who are aging out of the system.
Transition Home Operating Expenses. In August 2023, Together We Can purchased a residential home. This home is currently being renovated. It will be used as a Transition Home (a safe place for children to stay while DSS identifies a qualified foster family) and Educational Center for Foster Parent and Guardian Ad Litem training, Lifeskills Training, etc.
Community Outreach Events. The organization's two biggest events in 2023 were the Back to School Bash and I Love My Town. For the Back to School Bash, Together We Can organized a supply drive to provide school supplies for Foster Children, Foster Families and at risk children. For the I Love My Town event, Together We Can partnered with a local church to organize and coordinate a supply drive to provide gifts for Foster Children and at risk children at Christmas time.
