Encouragement and education Trailnet created quarterly crash reports in 2022, these crash reports highlighted areas of major concern for the safety of people walking and biking.trailnet continues to publish an ongoing safestreets glossary sharing some knowledge on roadway interventions that make our streets safer for all users.trailnet worked with the ville and greater ville neighborhoods to focus on increasing access to active transportation in the neighborhood and decreasing pollution. Trailnet finished a complete walk audit of the neighborhood to add to a comprehensive assessment of the current street conditions in the area that require priority improvements. Trailnet produced 2 area wide walk/bike counts: more than 100 volunteers, contributed more than 100 hours counted more than 2000 walkers & cyclists.
Rides Trailnet produced a full ride season in 2022; classics rides: [7 rides with more than 2500 participants; community rides: [5 ride with almost 600 rides]
Planning and advocacy Trailnet worked with the rest of the leadership team from missourians for responsible transportation to collectively advocate for hands-free device legislation in Missouri by building and advancing a broad coalition of interested groups that are determining a strategy for passage.trailnet staff continue advising and supporting new legislation in st. louis city and county including through the newly formed community mobility committee resolution in st. louis city.trailnet staff met with residents of several neighborhoods, to educate residents and decisions makers about how traffic-calming tools can improve neighborhood safety by slowing down cars. Staff continued targeted outreach to build relationships with the stl city board of aldermen to improve conditions for safe walking and biking.trailnet was a major contributor to the st louis county transportation action plan for walking and biking, working with several school districts and a number of underserved communities to apply health and equity proprieties to the final plan. Trailnet staff tabled at more than 20 different mission-related events around the metropolitan area.
