Program areas at Transform African Ministries
Spiritual Transformation: The City Church was established in Luzira to cause spiritual transformation in the community. During Covid lockdowns the church started a robust television service hosting programs in people's homes and neighborhoods. The success of such programs led to the opening of two other church locations within Kampala and a new church plant in Iganga west of Kampala with a physical attendance of 1,700 people. Television services reached at least 950,000 individuals every weekend.
Social Transformation: Hope House continues to house 12 girls between the ages of 9 to 18 thus providing a safe and secure home for a period of 2 years. The focus is on education and equipping the girls with leadership and income generating skills. Five girls are now in leadership roles in their respective schools. A demonstration urban farm has been developed at Hope House. After taking a break during Covid the Fields City Academy is being reorganized to provide a fully international curriculum. The school will also be relocated for opening in January 2023.
Economic Transformation: The Fit For Life program provides educational opportunities mentoring and financial capital support to help young people create jobs. To date 96 young people have gone through entrepreneurship training; over 20 businesses now employ 35 young people. In addition water wells food for the community and clothing were provided to offset the effects of Covid lockdowns on the community.
