Program areas at Transformative Culture Project
Our beyond creative program is a full-service media agency through which youth participate in paid, career-oriented training. In addition to technical, artistic, and career training, youth receive holistic wrap-around supports to build resilience from their often traumatic experiences. Adult producers are trained in positive youth development and mentor youth through as they proceed through their training. In addition, our creative classrooms programs offers paid mentoring opportunities to adult artists and producers in our network who are able to design original curriculum and be paid as teaching artists in our school programs. Youth are able to gain employment, education and social empowerment through their participation in the program. Through beyond creative we've been able to launch a collaboration during summer programming between tcp and northeastern university bringing together faculty and students, offering modules from recording, music production and storytelling.we were also able to hold a 5 day music production intensive in april which focused on the basic techniques for making music, learning how to use digital audio workstations, recording, songwriting and teaching students the power of using their voice through the arts. Our youth-serving work would not be possible without our talented village of adult artists and innovators. In order to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful, we are supporting these adults with mentoring, coaching, and employment opportunities. In addition, we continue to provide administrative support and coaching to innovative programs connected to our mission.
