BLACK LGBTQIA+ MIGRANT PROJECT: For BLMP, 2022 proved to be a year of continued organizational and financial growth. Internal infrastructure development coupled with sustained base building efforts, supported BLMP's presence at the local, national and international level. 2022 highlights include: Base-Building: Sustained base building and community building through monthly membership orientations and huddles; Deepened membership support and skills-building by hosting a series of online cultivating resilience sessions focusing on meditation, yoga, and spirituality; Deepened member analysis by hosting a series of online political and popular education sessions. Organizing: Regions (The Bay-Area, Houston, Minneapolis) All hubs planned events to recruit and sustain membership as well as planned end of year retreats to celebrate happenings within 2022 and envision 2023 organizing; (Cont'd at Schedule O)

POLICY & ORGANIZING: TLC's National Organizing Team leaped into action to strengthen movement capacity and support state-level leaders. We have been active in state-level conversations and coordinated more with the other national trans organizations?National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF) - as well formally reconvening our group of state trans activists to support state-level responses. Following the Texas Attorney General's memo equating gender-affirming care with child abuse, TLC's Director of Policy and Programs, Deputy Director of Policy and Programs, and Board Chair joined our partners at the Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) to support Trans Day of Visibility actions on March 31, 2022. LEGAL PROGRAM: TLC has emphasized litigation and advocacy focused on healthcare, prisons and criminalization, and immigration. Healthcare: Our intersectional litigation (BAGLY v. HHS) has been uniquely successful in keeping pressure on the Biden administration to develop new federal healthcare nondiscrimination regulations after the Trump administration gutted the Obama-era regulations. Because of our intersectional approach, our case has continued longer than any other challenges. The case was briefly stayed to allow the administration do develop new regulatory language, and that stay was lifted at the beginning of June 2022, when the administration had not released proposed rulemaking.
