Program areas at Tri-City Hospital Foundation

The Foundation is a supporting organization to the Tri-City Healthcare District dba Tri-City Medical Center (District) and provides grants for hospital programs, services and capital needs as approved by the Foundation Board. The Foundation is supported primarily through donor contributions and grants. The major projects accomplished this fiscal year under this program were:Emergency Department Remodel Project and Purchase of Digital x-ray units: $935,000A 2-3-year, $4.5 million redesign and renovation of our Emergency Department was launched in 2022. This redesign will allow the medical center to blend sustainable design elements with operational innovation to create efficiencies unique to an emergency department of the future. Comfort and speed will be central to complementing the outstanding clinical outcomes the medical center has become synonymous with. Once completely funded, this project will completely reimagine the medical centers emergency room entrance, patient and family waiting area, lighting, triage area, and Station A, one of three major treatment areas in the emergency department. This project will serve to strengthen our ability to provide critical emergency services to a community which is socioeconomically diverse with a large transient population. Additionally, we purchased a Digital X-ray unit, along with two state-of-the-art Portable Digital X-ray units to allow more accurate and efficient diagnosis. These units also allow for a better patient experience in times of great duress. Endobronchial Ultra Sound (EBUS): $408,600In order to launch a state-of-the-art early stage lung cancer detection program, we needed to purchase an EBUS. This device enables us to have all elements of this program to begin performing procedures for lung nodules. This program saves lives by capturing early stage lung cancer, which has a direct correlation to increasing survival rates for patients. Operating Room (OR) and Cath Lab Improvements: $489,200To continue to provide excellent outcomes and improvements for our OR and Cath Lab, the Foundation purchased a C-Arm and Hemo System for electrophysiology cases and Pacemaker Implants. It is critical to allow cardiac specialists to generate precise images and deliver accurate diagnoses and treatments and the C-Arm is versatile and allows mobile capabilities for various diagnostic and surgical applications.Neurology and Spinal Surgery: $387,100The purchase of a state-of-the-art neurosurgical microscope was purchased to be used by both, cranial and spinal surgeons. The current microscope was suboptimal due aging and volume capacity. Women & Newborn Remote Monitors: $149,200New remote monitors were purchased to provide full-time monitoring for expectant mothers in the Emergency Department and ICU. Wellness Center and MISC: $215,011Other support was provided for improvement and development at the Wellness Center, hospice services, case management, infection control education, Parkinsons Disease support, patient treatment and experience improvements.
