Program areas at Triangle Community Center
Pride - pride in the park is tcc's largest outreach event of the year. Drawing thousands to veteran's park in norwalk for a day of Community, entertainment, and education with nearly 90 vendors, many of whom are promoting social services, employment opportunities, and healthcare services. Tcc uses this event to connect with thousands of new Community members who may then be able to benefit from the programs and services tcc and its partners offer year round.
Other programs - all other program activity includes Community Center drop-in programs, group meetings, cultural competency training, a Community food pantry, and outreach in Community settings, schools, corporations, nonprofits, and government organizations. Community Center drop-in programs involve coordinating, scheduling, and promoting more than 30 regular drop-in groups throughout the year. Groups include peer support, recovery programs (12 step recovery, aa, na) in addition to social programming for the Community.
Clinical services - tcc's case management program provides social service navigation for lgbtq+ people in need. Common referrals include lgbtq competent medical and mental health providers, housing, financial assistance, job training, food, and social opportunities. Tcc offers mental health services, free of charge, to the Community. Counseling sessions are supervised by a licensed marriage and family therapist (lmft) or a licensed clinical social worker (lcsw) with advanced marriage and family therapy (mft) or advanced master in social work (msw) students providing comprehensive counseling to individuals, couples, and families.
