Program areas at Triangle Curling Club of North Carolina
League and Training - includes membership in the club and the ability to take part in weekly leagues. Leagues are offered in two sessions, one if the fall and one in the winter and last 10 to 12 weeks. Leagues build skill and understanding of the game and prepare members to participate in competitions nationally and internationally. An instructional league is offered on Saturdays which teaches new curlers the fundamentals of the game. This program also includes one time Learn to Curl classes or pick-up games where members of the public can learn the basics of curling and play a short game.
Bonspiels - These are competitions varying from one to four days in length and often involve teams from other clubs. The nature of these events is both friendly and competitive and provides curlers the opportunity to develop their skills.
Ice Operations and Maintenance - A quality ice surface is necessary for members to participate in the sport of curling and build their skills through practice and game play. Ice equipment must be maintained annually and the ice maintained on a daily basis with proper scraping, pebbling, nipping and cleaning.
