Program areas at Tujenge Africa Foundation

Tujenge Scholars Program TSP commits to one high-achieving low-income cohort of exceptional Burundian young adults each year for a post-secondary "gap year." Scholars are challenged to think critically about the world around them. They are introduced to college-level reading writing and math and charged with simultaneously becoming local and global citizens. In 2022 12 students graduated from TSP which was a decrease from the usual 25 students per year due to the impact of COVID-19. Overall 131 students have graduated from TSP.
