In 2023, Tulsa Global Alliance welcomed 161 international professionals and students through United States Government programs. Our International Visitor programs bridge cultures through person-to-person connections, including the international visitor leadership and youth ambassador programs funded by the U.S. State Department. Structured schedules enable our visitors to explore their professional or educational roles through meetings with local leaders and organizations, while also allowing them to observe and take part in cultural and social events. These programs give Oklahomans numerous opportunities to learn from and about cultures from around the world.
Tulsa Global Alliance facilitates Tulsas eight international Sister City Partnerships. We anticipate our ninth Sister City Partnership with Mwanza, Tanzania in 2024. Our Sister Cities program builds global cooperation at the municipal level, promotes cultural understanding, and stimulates economic development. These partnerships connect cultures through friendships, exchanges, education, sports, art, tourism, dignitary visits, internships, and other activities.
