Program areas at Turning Point of Las Cruces
Ultrasound and pregnancy: Turning Point accomplishes that mission by serving women and their families who find themself with a planned or unplanned pregnancy. Their staff provides testing, options and education. Pregnancy and ultrasound tests increased to 564 from 478 in 2021 as Turning Point continued to see more mothers as covid restrictions ended. Parenting,prenatal care and related education classes continued on zoom and in person classes were added and were able to reach more mothers and fathers.
Earn while you learn (ewyl) ewyl is a program to provide education to mothers and fathers using parenting programs as well as hands on fathering classes. Classes were on zoom and in person in 2022. Turning Point hired an education director who monitors classes. Attendance continues to increase. Attendance is rewarded through a Point system that enables clients to acquire a variety of baby items. Class attendees were 1013 in 2022 compared to 651 in 2021.
Community awareness: in order for Turning Point to accomplish its mission, the community needs to be aware of the services provided and aware that Turning Point is an option. Turning Point does this through its website and facebook page. Turning Point continued using its podcast series to provide discussion on difficult topics with women who used Turning Point's services or individuals in the medical and educational fields. To support their mission.
