Program areas at Tutoring Chicago

Tutoring Chicago delivers the power of education through one-to-one Tutoring. The organization provides free Tutoring on a weekly basis throughout the school year by matching over 1000 trained adult volunteer tutors with over 1000 chicago-area children facing financial barriers in grades one through ten. The programs at Tutoring Chicago focus on helping students improve literacy skills and reading development, practice grade-level mathematics concepts, develop social-emotional learning skills, and build upon attributes that contribute to overall future success. As of fall 2023, the organization provides in-person Tutoring at three locations in the near north, near west, and south side communities as well as digital Tutoring for individuals who prefer Tutoring in a remote setting. A combination of research-based curricular materials and assessments help tutors tailor the Tutoring experience for their student's individual needs.
