HOUSTON CHAPTER: 168 family service contracts, 512 children contracts, over 6,000 donated books, $21k in grocery support, $2,500 in scholarships, 900 children exposed to read-alouds, 126 baskets for disadvantaged seniors, and other additional assistance
WASHINGTON DC METRO AREA CHAPTER: Supported 65 children from 23 families in the Washington, DC, Alexandria, VA, Prince Georges County, MD, and Baltimore, MD. We hosted two fundraisers, one in August and one in December.In August, we supported families with books, back to school clothing, and school supplies. In December, we supported families with books, holiday gifts, grocery gift cards, and winter clothing
OAKLAND CHAPTER: Hosted a holiday fundraising party and raised $14,000 for literacy program, created baskets for 85 second and third graders at MLK Elementary that included various school supplies, provided Christmas gifts for the 344 students that attend MLK Elementary, participated in a literacy program to tutor at-risk children in math and reading
