Ucare Health Inc. (formerly Ucare Wisconsin) is a non-profit service insurance corporation providing access to comprehensive Health services and care management programs designed to improve the Health and Health coverage of our enrolled members.ucare Health Inc. is committed to serving individuals in public Health care programs; a primary component of its program activity is to provide medicare advantage coordinated care plan services to seniors. As of december 2022, it was serving nearly 2,849 medicare and 727 medicare supplement beneficiaries in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Ucare Health Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ucare Minnesota, a tax-exempt organization serving medicaid, medicare, and individual Health exchange recipients in minnesota.as Ucare Minnesota's wholly owned subsidiary, Ucare Health, Inc. also provides supporting coverage for services delivered outside the service area of an individual comprehensive Health plan offered through Minnesota's Health insurance exchange. This Ucare Health activity is intended to further Ucare Minnesota's charitable purpose to improve the Health of its membership through innovative services and partnerships across communities. Measured by premium revenue, this activity is incidental to Ucare Health lnc. 's primary social welfare activity of offering medicare advantage Health plans for seniors and its planned growth strategy of expanding into medicaid offerings.ucare Health, inc.'s medicare advantage Health plans are offered in partnership with nonprofit Health care delivery systems that share the financial risk for serving the enrolled population. This product design features an increased emphasis on cost control, quality performance, and robust population Health management. The shared risk arrangements with Health care provider partners include quality outcomes that create an additional incentive for improvements in Health for the membership.the covid-19 pandemic continued to impact Ucare's planned quality improvement activities for 2022. Ucare was able to shift focus, priorities, and resources to address the covid-19 pandemic and pressing needs of members. Ucare continues to identify opportunities for improvement to develop interventions to support the needs of our membership. Our strategies and interventions have been tailored to reduce disproportionate burden of covid-19 among diverse population groups that are at increased risk for infection and severe illness as well as working to address Health disparities and inequities related to covid-19.ucare Health, Inc. Supports member Health programs, community activities and collaborations, and Health education programs, which are integral to the products offered to members. One example is the fitness benefit, with a choice of the silversneakers fitness program or Ucare's Health club savings network of fitness centers. Members also have access to disease management programs for asthma, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and congestive heart failure, smoking cessation programs, distribution of free materials on Health education and proper use of urgent and emergency facilities at community forums. In addition, Ucare supports member access to services that are Health and wellness related via discounts on community education classes, over the counter medications, alternative medicine and healthy food discounts. These efforts not only benefit the Health of enrollees, but positively affect their families and larger communities.community activities and education are also essential to improving the Health of our community. Examples include participating in the institute for clinical systems improvements, as well as delivering medicare general education sessions across Ucare Health's service area. These meetings are open to anyone in the community, especially those who will be or know someone who will be aging into medicare soon and is interested in learning about all aspects of the federal medicare program and system. While the covid-19 pandemic limited the sessions conducted in 2022, Ucare Minnesota, on behalf of Ucare Health, conducted 81 medicare education classes which were attended by 340 individuals, including individuals residing in Ucare Health's service area. Ucare Health also produced numerous newsletter articles educating both members and providers about various topics, including dental benefits, chronic condition management, new provider search tool, medicare coverage updates, caregiving support for families, but most notably related to managing Health and safety during the covid-19 pandemic.
