Mission Programs:The Bryce Homes program is active in almost a dozen countries, and has grown to 64 homes, 25 in Kenya, 15 in Myanmar, 9 in South Africa and 15 in the Philippines. We are assisting over 350 people (caretakers, widows and orphans) in these countries who are part of the Bryce Homes International Program. In each country we are working with pastors and church leaders who are responsibly distributing the donated funds we receive from faithful donors around the world. Progress reports from each country are posted on our website at www.understandthetimes.org under the headings of UTT Missions. This heading is broken down into Myanmar, Kenya, South Africa and the Philippines. Updates are also available on UTT YouTube Channel. We are establishing Christian centers in Myanmar and to support preaching of the Gospel in this country, while providing education to children in this country. This project assists native Christians who have a vision to reach their country with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Mission Myanmar continues to do well. More than sixty children are attending school and being cared for and given a Christian education. We have secured sponsors for more missionaries to take the gospel to country of Myanmar. We are working to establish a Bible College in the near future. The Bryce Homes Program in Myanmar has advanced through various phases since the idea was first put into action in 2006. Instead of the idea of organized institutions for the poor, we have redirected our vision by establishing Christian homes where parents can provide an environment for the needy as well as become faith-building lighthouses where truth can be spread to the surrounding community. These families are encouraged to take in orphans or children from poor families and make them part of their own families. With our help and the spiritual leadership of our team, they are able to provide food, clothes, and education for their extended families. The Bryce Homes Program has made a huge impact on the local region of Kenya. Not only have the people living there seen true Christianity in action, the chief of the area has told us that the whole community has benefited in many ways. Six new homes have been built, food and clothes provided and water collecting and purification systems put in place to provide clean and pure drinking water. When church services are held outdoors by the Bryce Homes families, the praise and worship attracts others in the community. Thus the reason for this update regarding a plan for a church building program. Already a pastor has committed to overseeing the Bryce Homes in this area and care for the flock that has been established. Gatherings occur regularly outdoors under the hot sun. There are only rocks and the odd log to sit on. When the sky opens and the rain pours down, the congregation is forced to flee to their homes until the rain subsides. We are hoping to build a simple church cost would be about $3,700.Understand The Times continued to support a feeding program for children in one of the slum areas of Manila. The children are receiving food twice a week handed out by a volunteer staff based at a church. Many of these children attend Sunday School and have brought their parents to church who have now become Christians.Understand The Times financially assists a weekly ministry that reaches out to prisoners at the high security prison in Manila. These funds provide for Bibles and some of the basic needs for prisoners, many who are incarcerated for life.We also supported and ministered to pastors in Japan, the Ukraine and Paraguay.
