Program areas at UICC
The 2022 World Cancer Congress: The Congress is a recognised international conference that encourages effective knowledge transfer and best practices exchange amongst global cancer control and health experts. The Congress supports UICC's mission statement "unite and support the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda". The event aims to strengthen the action and impact of the cancer community on national, regional and international scales through its educational programme which spans the full spectrum of cancer - from prevention and treatment to palliative care.
UICC's Breast Cancer programme is designed to respond to the urgent need to accelerate progress in breast cancer, which is the most diagnosed cancer in both men and women and the leading cause of death from cancer in women. This comprehensive programme strengthens and engages the global breast cancer community, with the overall goal of contributing to the reduction of premature deaths from breast cancer and improving the quality of life of patients.
The International Journal of Cancer: The IJC is universally recognised as a leading publication for original papers and review articles, covering the full spectrum of topics in clinical and experimental cancer research. The journal concentrates on fundamental studies that improve our understanding of the mechanisms of human cancer and shed new light on effective diagnostic tools and treatments. IJC covers a broad spectrum of areas in cancer research such as: Cancer Epidemiology, Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics Infectious Causes of Cancer, Molecular Cancer Biology Tumor Immunology and Microenvironment, Tumor Markers and Signatures Cancer Therapy and Prevention.
