Program areas at UPS
Home & community based Services.- operates 14 individualized residential alternatives facilities (ira) which provides supportive Services to 76 developmental disabled individuals. We also operate 5 individualized supported Services (iss) which provides residential opportunites for 5 developmentally disabled individuals.these residences are located in the bronx, brooklyn and queens providing a wide range of residentialand clinical Services. In addition, we provide community and day habilitation without walls vocational integrated Services within the community to these individuals. Though our extensive network of affiliations additional off-site Services are provided based on each individual's specific needs; these include psychiatric, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech etc.
Concourse scatter.- operates 2 supported housing programs for up to 120 formerly homeless individuals who suffer from serious mental illness, a substanse use disorder including those who are co-occuring or actively using. All individuals referred must have been recently homeless and suffer from a serious and persistent mental illness. The supported housing program offers housing opportunities, mental health assessments, skills training, substance use counseling and referral, medical and medication monitoring throughout the bronx to single males and females. The supported housing program providesd a person-centered approach to service delivery.
Community residences.- operates 3 residential facilities which provides supportive Services to 140 formerly homeless mentally ill individuals and 6 supported housing programs for up to 102 formerly homeless individuals who suffer from mental illness. The residentail programs are community residences single room occupancy (cr/sro) which offer extended-stay housing to individuals who meet the criteria established by nys office of mental health. All individuals referred must have been recently homeless and suffer from a serious and persistent mental illness. The supported housing program offers housing opportunities throughout bronx, brooklyn, manhattan and westchester to single males and females. In addition to families with children. The supported housing program provides a person-centered approach to service delivery.
