Leadership development: developing and equipping catalytic leaders who will equip and mobilize united churches in a local community to partner with multi-sector leadership in order to promote wholistic flourishing for the next generation. Unite trains leaders (flourishing catalysts) with best practices in community development, produces a tool box of assets to be utilized in accomplishing their mission and provides ongoing contextual coaching in order to promote the catalyst's success in their community. The flourishing catalyst in turn trains and mobilizes churches into unified engagement.
Collaborative mobilization: 1.flourishing catalysts walk through an asset-based discovery process. They listen to key stakeholders in a local community including vulnerable community members, leadership from various sectors and local pastors. Flourishing catalysts discover the strengths, assets, dreams, challenges and pain points that exist in that community. 2.flourishing catalyst seek to help harmonize existing efforts (between local leaders and pastors) and strategize with pastors regarding how they can build on current efforts towards creating scaled impact. 3.once strategic goals are agreed upon, the fc mobilizes churches together, with other community partner towards those goals. The initiatives they pursue are contextually derived as they understand the primary challenges young people in a particular community are facing. (ie. Education, need for mentors, housing, hunger, transportation, jobs, immigration status, etc. ).
Convening: Unite convenes church and community leaders on a quarterly basis for the purpose of networking, training, and cross-pollination. Flourishing catalysts convene pastors and leaders in their local area 12+ times per year in order to promote unity, mutual encouragement, and missional alignment; along with providing training, tools, and an opportunity to crowd source best-practices and solutions among the pastors convened.
