Program areas at UFDC
Convention - annually, regional conferences, traveling seminars and the national convention provide members with opportunities for education and enjoyment. Seminars, lectures, hands on workshops and exhibits of dolls are vital elements of ufdc. The annual convention was attended by 736 attendees. Attendees were offered 4 special exhibits for the study of various dolls and Doll related items. There were 16 hands on workshops offered with 328 attendees. The convention offered 16 seminars with 662 attendees. There were 12 open programs available for all attendees and 14 meal events with a program and a Doll being offered. In addition, 2 events were offered as fundraisers: one musical event, and another movie. In addition, 4 tours were offered to local attractions and museums in seattle.
Real service and research center - ufdc maintains an archive of catalogs, research materials, patent papers, patterns and other ephemera related to dolls. Real services is also home to the museum and library which are open to the public. The museum was open to the public for tours. Ufdc hosted two alice leverett sewing workshops during the year.
Doll news - the magazine is published quarterly and is filled with original research and informative articles about all areas of dolls and Doll collecting. The magazine is delivered to all 6,299 members with 7,131 memberships.
Regional directors fund - to provide support for the regional directors for travel to their local Clubs.
