Program areas at The Big Garden
taught 4752 students in low income areas across the Omaha Metro area the skills neded to grow, prepare and preserve their own food.
Planted, tended and harvested over 6000 pounds of fresh produce that was donated to food banks, shelters and pantries to be passed out to those in need of food as a healthy alternative to canned goods typically found at these establishments.
Built, repaired or expaned several community gardens and fruit tree groves in comminuties to help grow food sources for neighbors, pantries and food banks in need.
