Over the past year, the United Way & Community Foundation of Greater Fort Dodge supported many different non-profit organizations and Community betterment projects. Grants were provided to support programs for low income youth, their families and senior citizens including: after school programs, programs to support mental health counseling, homeless prevention, domestic violence prevention, child abuse prevention, support for basic needs such as food, clothing, transporatation, access to healthcare services, eye glasses for youth, recreation programs, educational scholarships, fire safety, meals on wheels for seniors, etc. Grants were also made in support of Community betterment projects for fire departments, Community center renovation, a downtown renovation project, public library project, Community special events and other projects.
