United Way of Baldwin County

The United Way of Baldwin County is a network of organizations that brings people together to tackle community issues. Our goal is to create lasting change by addressing the underlying causes to problems in the areas of health, education and financial stability. This is accomplished through a collaborative effort with our community partners and programs designed to address the needs of Baldwin County citizens. Uwbc holds annual campaigns that raise funds that are then allocated to the nonprofit agencies to help cover the expenses that are offered for these health and human service programs.

United Way of Baldwin County offers an in-house program known as the United medical partnership for children. Children with no insurance are less likely to receive proper medical care which often results in excessive absences from school. The United medical partnership for children enables uninsured and underinsured children to receive proper medical treatment. By keeping children healthy, we keep children in the classroom and on a pathway towards success. To identify children who need care, uwbc partners with the Baldwin County public schools and its network of school nurses. The fund pays for basic medical needs for public school children.

Community support programs - employees' salaries, payroll taxes benefits, and telephone expenses are allocated. The executive director and staff are active participants on many area non-profit boards. This participation enables the executive director and staff better understand the needs of the community and the needs of the member agencies.
