United Way of Laramie County directs funding and resources to ensure that children in our community achieve their full potential. We provide grants to programs in our community to ensure that the children have a positive and involved family and community structure; access to a variety of activities that provide quality education, a positive learning environment, and assistance in developing life skills; and that they are productive, engaged, and avoidant of risky behaviors.
United Way of Laramie County manages the vita free tax service which is the only year-round free tax service in the state of Wyoming. In 2022, 28 volunteers prepared 1346 federal tax returns for a total of 1.4 million in federal refunds. This is money that comes back to the community for families to purchase groceries, pay rent, and more.
United Way of Laramie County provides grants and resources to local organizations to ensure the financial stability and success of our residents through advancement of skills, improving personal financial management and providing a safety net support system. Through these grants and resources, residents have more tools available to them to obtain a livable wage and meet basic life, safety and economic needs.
United Way of Laramie County directs funding and resources to local organizations to provide fundamental health resources to members of our community. The resources we provide work to ensure that Laramie County residents can receive timely and regular preventive care, acute care, and chronic disease services as well as access to wellness programs. United Way of Laramie County also leads the only community schools program in the state of Wyoming. This program is 5 years old, and we are serving title 1 schools in lcsd. We are currently on the campuses of cole and hebard elementary schools. This program connects students to the community resources they need to be productive in school. All other program services not categorized in the first three accomplishments.
