These include, but are not limited to, general acute care, surgeries, home health, intensive care and critical care, mental health care, cardiology, oncology, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, behavioral disorder programs, maternal/child care, laboratory, palliative care, pharmaceutical drugs, emergency services, outpatient clinics, check-ups and radiology. Some of the services provided do not generate enough income to offset their cost. In the fiscal period ended december 31, 2023, Central Iowa Hospital Corporation admitted 34,011 patients resulting in a total of 191,141 patient days. Outpatient visits totaled 219,019 and total outpatient surgery registrations for the same period were 14,304. There were also 115,087 emergency room visits and 5,043 babies delivered.
