Program areas at UNRWA USA National Committee
Grant program:unrwa USA prioritizes our program funding through four technical pillars: 1)education + training, 2)health (including mental health), 3)protection, and 4)emergency response. Under education + training, grant funds enabled nearly 100 university and post-graduate students to benefit from Unrwa scholarship support as well as installing solar powered desalination units for six schools. Under emergency response, grant funding enabled 35,919 full food parcels including flour, rice, chickpeas, lentils, milk, and cooking oil to be delivered to 7,184 refugee families in gaza. Grant funding also enabled reconstruction or repair of 68 damaged shelters from prior military assaults. Grant funding also provided mental health services to 5,038 youth in gaza.
Other programs:building awareness about the plight of palestine refugees and the essential food, health, housing, education, and protection services that Unrwa provides to this population through education and awareness building activities.
