Language classes - foreign language and second language classes - ui offers 95 different classes in up to 11 different languages during 4 semesters throughout the year. Regular classes are once per week; intensive classes are offered twice per week. Semesters are 8, 10 or 12 weeks long.
World affairs council Upstate - we promote global identity in the Upstate and sustain International engagement in our region. Wacu gets involved in leading intellectual discussions on critical issues facing the world by hosting distinguished speakers and academic leaders in speaking events for the public and at local educational institutions. The wac Upstate programming included the first global Upstate conference in march of 2022 as well as our ongoing beyond the headlines lunch and learn speaker series.
Upstate International month - a month long series of cultural events celebrating the rich diversity in the Upstate. Ui-month generally starts with a kick-off event hosted by ui, and then includes over 100 events offered by many organizations/clubs/companies throughout the Upstate. Upstate International seeks out community partners who develop and host internationally themed events. We promote, market and occasionally develop the events with our partners. Events can be as simple as sharing a recipe, to hands-on cooking, cultural exhibits, performances and galas.
Salsa at sunset - a three-part summer series generally in june/july/august celebrating latin culture through music and dance. Sas hosts a live latin band each of the three evenings with about 800 people in attendance throughout the evening. Cultural events include different programs and events that celebrate cultural heritage and history. Events include our women's programming, german gluehwein party, cooking demonstrations, and other programs celebrating heritage. Relocation services - typically servicing michelin interns in helping them get their social security numbers. Michelin halted much of their program summer of 2020. We occasionally will help other clients with relocation services including ss, driver's license, etc.
