The community tennis department is dedicated to growing the sport of tennis for both youth and adults. They form numerous partnerships throughout Northern California, with many organizations (such as the police activities leagues, ymca of Northern California, and boys and girls clubs) that developed new memberships and programming on the youth side.
Adult tournament programs provide an opportunity for over 2,654 adult, seniors, ntrp class, open, and collegiate players to complete in a Usta sanctioned tournament structure and meet new opponents from all over Northern California. By participating in adult tournaments, players have the opportunity to compete with people outside of their local area. The organization has increased the availability in quality sanctioned junior tournaments and junior circuits in Northern California with opportunities for over 4,454 youths to compete in a structured setting.
Marketing and diversity & inclusion outreach activities by the organization promote and develop the growth of tennis by creating strategies and initiatives that attract and retain members and participants, as well as build greater diversity within the section (and in doing so, promote tennis as an all-inclusive sport that welcomes all). These activities increase awareness of Usta Northern California's junior, adult and community programs and support the overall organization's goal to grow and promote tennis across the Usta Northern California section.junior team tennis provides children the opportunity to learn tennis with a team emphasis. The major accomplishments of the juniors program include, but are not limited, to a full introduction of players aged 18 and under into the section. In addition, the staff foster and grow existing relationships in their dedicated areas of focus to help grow the sport for all ages. The section is the 7th largest section overall for membership out of 17 sections.
