Recent snap and child nutrition activities: state legislature 2023: - advocated for 800,000 in one-time funding for community food pantries. Administrative advocacy: -facilitated 4 advocate meetings with dws/dhhs staff. Topics included phone wait times, policy updates and other access issues. College student food access and food insecurity -worked with Utah's higher education basic needs coalition to strategize on how to address college Hunger. Child nutrition: -organized with other advocates to work with rep clancy on healthy school meals for all in the 2024. Participated in 8 summer ebt planning meeting on the national level -participated in 20 national healthy school meals for all meetings snap participated in 24 national snap policy meetings community outreach/education: -hosted 4 community forums highlighting food insecurity in various communities that otherwise go unheard, and published 4 issue briefs to accompany the community forum topics -conducted outreach activities in 3 community learning centers, the va on a weekly basis -fielding more than 3,200 calls from seniors and others seeking information about the senior famers market nutrition program -facilitated 4 pantry association meetings -facilitated 10 snap outreach partner meetings other: -chaired the food security council and facilitated 10 monthly meetings -participated in 8 county level food access/policy meetings
