The bellini altarpiecesgallerie dell'accademia, venicethe famous altarpiece depicting the virgin in glory with saints is a 1510-1515 oil on panel painting by giovanni bellini and his studio, and since 1980, has been deposited at the gallerie dell'accademia museum due to its precarious state of conservation. It measures 3.5m by 2.25m. It was originally painted for the church of santa maria degli angeli in murano and during the french domination, it was transferred to the nearby church of san pietro martire, always in murano island. The altarpiece has been shipped to florence, where it is now under restoration at the opificio delle pietre dure in florence, the most prominent public institute of restoration in italy. The goal is to preserve the artwork's historical significance and reveal its true beauty.
