Program areas at Ventura County Farm To School

Ventura County Farm to School provides nutrition and garden education to students throughout our community. We provide professional development for teachers in the areas of garden and nutrition education. We write grants for farms and school districts. Our efforts brought in $1.5M in grant funding for four School Districts, three farms, and our own non profit. Over 100 teachers participated in our garden education workshops, ten educators were able to attend a national school garden conference in April 2022 in Denver, Co. Over 30 school gardens received support in terms of consulting, labor, education, supplies and materials. We coordinate donations of supplies and materials for school gardens. Through this work over 20K students participated in programs. Our organization supports school districts to purchase crops from local farms as well.
