Program areas at Ohio Contemporary Ballet
Education/outreach goals and objectives 1. Building community within its physical space and the greater geographic area, offering opportunities to learn dance 2. Bring programs to various locations in and around cleveland and northeast Ohio, meeting people where they live, work, and learn. Objectives 1. Partner with the cleveland dance movement to create opportunities for cleveland's minority and emerging dance practitioners. 2. Through its subsidized rental program, support minority dance programs. 3. Deliver current outreach programs as in-house learning. 4. Present open master classes at an affordable price including minority artists.
Organizational goals and objectives 1. Going forward, the company must fortify its financial future by growing its donor base 2. Diversifying its board. It must attract 1) higher wealth/ higher contributing board members, 2) new board members familiar with, or eager to learn about, the inner workings of a dance company and 3) those who can bring to the board greater diversity, in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and age, and who can extend verb's reach throughout the great lakes region. Objectives 1. Grow from 600,000 to 750,000 in the next two years, with the goal of growing to 1,000,000 in the next four to five years. 2. Increase salaries and hours worked for employees to create parity with dance companies nationally: 3. Increase dancer and artistic staff salaries by 40% 4. Seek individual and/or corporate funding for initiatives to support cultural exchange and equity efforts.
Artistic goals and objectives 1. Verb aims to support art that reflects our current societal landscape and is relevant to our dancers, our communities and to dance enthusiasts in cleveland. 2. Chooses works for the dancers to learn new styles and skills 3. Engages emerging choreographers to create new works which are both technically challenging and Contemporary in style and theme objectives 1. Create one social justice work that draws from cleveland's history. 2. Engage at least two minority choreographers. Through its partnership with the cleveland dance movement 3. Offer performance and training opportunities to cleveland's underrepresented minority dance community. 4. Grow audience diversity through marketing efforts and programming
Racial equity goals and objectives 1. The company seeks to attract and maintain top creative talent with a company that reflects diverse backgrounds. 2. Provides a stage for choreographers who elevate marginalized voices and reflect our times. 3. Promote equity in the field and to be an organization that embraces antiracism. Objectives 1. Attend the international association of blacks in dance auditions. 2. Create partnerships and relationships with diverse groups. 3. Support the creation of a new work for verb by a local emerging artist. 4. With verb's membership in dance usa and Ohio arts professionals network, we advocate for diversity and inclusion.
