Vcci operates four residential care homes licensed by the state of Vermont with locations in burlington, derby line and rutland. Our mission is to provide residents with a safe, caring and homelike environment, in which every person can enjoy a pleasant living experience. We provide private rooms and suites to individuals who require mild to moderate supervision and oversight with daily activities. The exceptional staff provides resident-centered care so that residents can maintain the ultimate level of independence.
The emergency aid program provides financial and emotional help to individuals and families throughout Vermont who face an unexpected crisis or worry about how they are going to meet their most basic needs. The clients served are the employed, the unemployed, the underemployed, and retirees. Federal and state assistance programs tied to the covid-19 pandemic have been eliminated while costs of rent, electricity, fuel, and food continue to rise. These factors have heightened the needs of the population we serve and have brought new families to us for help. In addition, vcci provides limited financial support to newly released inmates to help them have a chance at a new start. Assistance might include: grocery cards, back rent or security deposits, and outstanding utility or fuel bills for those facing shut offs. Vcci also offers case management to clients where they learn how to navigate through systems and community resources. The goal is to empower clients through education, advocacy, and networking to improve their ability to be self-sufficient. Vcci's emergency aid program served 1,831 individuals throughout vermont.for over 28 years, vcci has provided financial help to individuals and families during the holiday season through the advent appeal. In december 2022, 956 individuals received food cards, gift cards, fuel/utility assistance, or help with back rent.
Mental health counseling is provided by professional social workers and mental health clinicians to families and individuals from all faith traditions and backgrounds. We seek to offer hope, support, compassion and the opportunity for healthy, personal growth. The goal is to help people increase their self-esteem, cope more effectively with stress and reduce isolation. Counseling helps individuals and families develop and strengthen communication skills to build and sustain healthy relationships and live more satisfying lives. Telehealth services are provided via hipaa compliant platforms. Most health insurances are accepted. To ensure affordability and access to all, reduced rate counseling services are available.
