Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) was established to finance and promote affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters. Since its inception, VHFA has assisted approximately 28,000 Vermonters and their families purchase primary residences. It has also provided financing, development and management support, subsidy administration and tax credits to approximately 8,600 units of multifamily rental housing. Vermont Housing Finance Agency's mission is to finance and promote affordable, safe and decent housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters.

Program areas at VHFA

Monies from the single family, multi-family, multi-purpose, and general operating program funds have been used by the Agency to purchase mortgage backed securities and Finance mortgage loans on single and multi-family residential Housing units for persons and families of low and moderate income within the state of Vermont.
The Agency participates in the following federal funding programs under the american rescue plan act (arpa): homeowner assistance program (hap), missing middle Housing, and capital magnet fund.
