Program areas at Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care
Vdh (Vermont dept of Health) serves as the fiduciary for vpqhc's bill back funding from the hospitals and Health plans in Vermont. With these funds, vpqhc provides services that are part of the implementation and maintenance of a state-wide Quality assurance system. Through various projects, vpqhc provides on-going evaluation and improvement activities that enhance the Quality of Health Care services rendered in Vermont.
Vpqhc is administering a Program for suicide education and training for independent mental Health providers and the cdc comprehensive suicide prevention grant.
Vpqhc received funding to start a statewide telepsychiatry network.
(d) vpqhc supports Quality improvement activities that improve the clinical and improvement actiticties that enhance the Quality of Health Care services rendered in Vermont. Quality and performance of all critical access hospitals. (e) vpqhc administers the patient safety surveillance improvement system and facilitates root cause analysis, corrective actions plans and aggregates public reporting for serious reportable patient safety events for the state of Vermont. (f) vpqhc supports the Vermont department of corrections to provide Quality improvement activities. (g) vpqhc received funding for training providers in hospital emergency departments in trauma responsive Care. (h) vpqhc received funding to work on hospital Health disparities. (i) the eastern us Quality improvement collaborative, known as eqic, was established in 2020 to deliver services for the centers for medicare and medicaid services' hospital Quality improvement contract to further advance the Quality and safety of healthcare provided in hospitals across the region. Vpqhc is the subcontractor for this work in Vermont. (j) vpqhc received a grant to support Health equity trainings. (k) vpqhc received funding to assist a new organization with organizational and programmatic development. (l) vpqhc received funding to support planning including research and stakeholder engagement for future launch of statewide telepsychiatry network. (m) vpqhc received funding to purchase, assemble and distribute youth acitivity kits to hospital emergency rooms. (n) vpqhc received funding to distribute telehealth equipment to providers.
