The following vacbc Assistance may be given upon qualification: vouchers to obtain food and/or personal items: amount received is depending on size of family. At least partial payments of utilities and fuel: utility payments will be made, providing the applicant qualifies in other respects. No deposits or past due bills will be paid to any utility company. (for possible exceptions see limited one-time Assistance below). At least partial payment of rent/mortgage: this vacbc office does not pay security deposits, back rents or home finding fees. Rents shall not be paid to relatives unless it is a separate rental dwelling. (before this office can make any rental or mortgage payments, a copy of a lease or mortgage agreement is mandatory). Limited transportation: the vacbc has arranged transportation for boone county Veterans to our local Veterans medical clinic in rockford, il or to the nearest winnebago county Veterans association va van pick-up point for transportation to the va medical facility in madison, wi. You must arrange this transportation through the vacbc office at (815-544-6464). In addition, if you need transportation to the va medical facility in madison, wi you must also contact the winnebago county Veterans association va van coordinator at (815-964-6166). Limited one-time Assistance: the vacbc may provide limited one-time Assistance to Veterans as needed. This is a discretionary funding allowed no more than one time per twelve month period per family. This funding is intended to assist a very needing veteran, dependents of a veteran, or surviving spouse of a veteran through an urgent, emergency, or near- emergency situation. The amount allotted is calculated as the minimum required to assist the recipient. This Assistance will be allotted on an as-needed basis and is completely at the discretion of the superintendent and/or the Commission. (no monies will be given directly to the recipient. All distributions will be via vouchers or paid directly to a billing agency).
