Research: Studying the ways that marginalized citizens in the US and in other regions of the world are using social media to talk about positive social change and to put forward their needs and knowledge; studying the ways that certain communities, such as the homeless in the US, are able to gain visibility on the platforms themselves and how platform policies enable or hinder that.
App development: building prototypes for web apps through which development experts at the UN level or academic researchers can tap into citizen insights.
Content sourcing: Sourcing thousands of pieces of video content from hundreds of geographies where citizens live below the poverty line, and sharing that content on social media, in order to study how marginalized citizens can best use new technologies in order to share their knowledge with the world.
