Program areas at Village Preservation
Preservation & advocacy - undertake research, documentation, and advocacy to preserve and extend the Historic districts of Greenwich Village, the east Village, gansevoort market, noho, and the south Village. Village Preservation researches the Historic resources in our community, advocates against inappropriate development in our neighborhoods, and provides tools to the general public to help them preserve their communities through civic engagement. We provide regular oversight of our area's landmark districts, conduct research on undocumented buildings, and advocate for threatened properties within our neighborhoods.
Lectures, tours, and meetings - lectures, tours, exhibits, and programs about the architecture and history of Greenwich Village, the east Village, south Village, and noho.
